The Boot Camp application will be live by Monday, January 7th and due February 1st. We will send a full call for applications soon.
DANT and Gibney have teamed up to conduct a Boot Camp on Disability Equity and Inclusion in NYC’s Cultural Landscape in Spring 2019, funded by the Department of Cultural Affairs’ Disability Forward Fund. In anticipation of that event, we are hosting a convening of artists, cultural workers, and policy experts working on disability arts initiatives to introduce our plans for the Boot Camp, and to get your input on what would be valuable for you.
This Boot Camp builds on DANT's 2017 Boot Camp for cultural workers, funded by the Cultural Agenda Fund. The upcoming Boot Camp will focus on convening formerly disconnected players to strengthen the network of disability arts activists, equipping them with the strategies and tools necessary to support disability equity and inclusion in the arts. Some participants may be new to the field, and others may be deeply steeped in the history and ideas that inform the craft. Some may be allies, and some disabled artists.
Access information: ASL and CART (captioning) will be provided. Gibney is a wheelchair-accessible venue. This is a fragrance-free event. For the health and safety of attendees with chemical sensitivities, we ask that everyone come scent-free. Please email hello@disabilityarts.nyc by 1/4 for any other access requests.
